The Akai AP-B1 is a USB MIDI keyboard controller designed for use with computer-based music production software. It features 25 velocity-sensitive mini keys, a pitch bend wheel, and a modulation wheel, providing the user with realistic and expressive keyboard playback. The keyboard also includes transport controls, such as stop, play, record, and rewind, and software-specific functions for selected digital audio workstations (DAWs), such as Avid's Pro Tools, Steinberg's Cubase, and Ableton Live, among others. The AP-B1 is bus-powered via USB and comes with a detachable power adapter for use in locations where USB power may not be available. It also includes drivers and software for Mac and Windows operating systems.
